  • Tudor Day

    Mon 07 Dec 2015 DCW

To celebrate the end of our topic about the life and times of William Shakespeare, Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a Tudor Day. They had prepared their own lunch of Vegetable Pottage and crusty bread and brought in an array of sweetmeats and savoury puddings to share at their banquet. This was rounded off with a slice of a beautifully crafted Globe Theatre cake. They all looked wonderful in their costumes and at the end of the day we all felt a little like Henry when he said of Falstaff: "He hath eaten me out of house and home;" (Henry IV Part 1). Well done everyone!

The winning book was Animalium by Jenny Broom and in second place Pop Up New York by Jennie Maizels. We learned lots about the different ways information can be presented in books and had some exciting and engaging discussions.
