  • La Visite de Bretteville l'Orgueilleuse

    Years 5 and 6 today played hosts to a group of children visiting with their school from Bretteville l'Orgueilleuse, Basses Normandie, in France. After playground games we got to know each other with a game of Friendship Bingo - in both English and French of course! Before leaving for their lunch and a visit to Guernsey Museum, our visitors enjoyed the cakes we had made for them. We were also pleased to receive gifts of Bons-bons. Everyone agreed that it was a lovely cross-cultural opportunity to share with our neighbours.

  • Greenaway National Judge Visits Reading Group!

    Visiting the Year 5/6 Reading Group today was national judge for the prestigious Greenaway Award, Guille Alles Librarian Jan Foss. Jan told us about the selection process - how 90 long-listed books were whittled down to the final shortlist of eight. She has enjoyed meeting with her fellow judges in London to discuss the books and be part of the final selections. We had lots of questions for her and learned a lot about the process.
